After the holiday period you may be feeling like you need a little bit of a detox… Ok, maybe a BIG detox. Now of course our amazing little body’s are very capable of detoxifying on their own, but sometimes – and especially after the holiday period – our liver can benefit from a little help to enhance it’s natural processes.
There are many incredible foods and herbs that can help our body to detox, and one of the best places to start is by incorporating green smoothies into our diet.
This smoothie I’ve created is a new favourite, as it has all the nutrients I know my body needs to help me get back on track with my health goals.
Beginners beware, this green smoothie can taste quite tart with the grapefruit, but watch the video where I suggest replacing this w\
ith mango or orange, or adding in some honey to naturally sweeten the smoothie.
***Please note, some medications do interact with Grapefruit, so check with your doctor or medical professional first!***
– 1 banana
– 1 grapefruit
– Juice of 1/2 a lemon
– 1 cup spinach
– 1 bunch of parsley
– 1 Tbsp chia seeds
– 250ml of coconut water
Optional: Add ice or use a frozen banana – It tastes much nicer cold!
Blend all ingredients and enjoy straight away. Serves 1.
