PB & J Smoothie

Smoothies are always my “go to” for a quick breakfast or post workout snack. They are such a great way to include different flavours and superfoods in your diet, and by blending everything together, it’s a whole lot easier on your digestive system to absorb.

Although nutrition is key, I’m the first to admit that taste is always an important factor! That’s why when I came across this idea to tweak an old favourite, I knew I had to try it and share it with everyone.

The words “Peanut Butter and Jelly” don’t exactly scream healthy, but rest assured, when using the right ingredients, a nutritious version of this much loved combo can be a reality!


  • 200ml filtered water or your choice of nut milk
  • 1 medjool date
  • 2 Tbsp organic peanut butter (I use Chantel but you could substitute this for another nut butter)
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries (I like blueberries and boysenberries!)
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Ice cubes (optional)

Blend water or almond milk with the date and peanut butter until smooth. Add the other ingredients and blend again. Serve and enjoy!
