Avocado and Mango Smoothie

Yes, you read that right. Avocado in a smoothie! It may sound a little weird, but that’s what everyone thought about adding spinach and kale to smoothies and now we’re in the middle of the “Green Smoothie Fad”. Give it a try! The addition of avocado not only boosts this smoothies nutritional content, but also gives it a delicious creamy texture and flavour, without needing to add any dairy products.

This smoothie is not only tastes great, but is packed with potassium and antioxidant vitamins C, A and E, important for healthy skin and protecting cells from free radical damage. This smoothie is also a great source of monounsaturated fat, a “good fat” which helps to lower cholesterol levels and reduce inflammation in the body. Enjoy as a quick breakfast or snack at anytime of the day.


  • 1/2 avocado
  • 3/4 cup fresh or frozen mango
  • 1 cup coconut water (or you can use plain filtered water)
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • Ice cubes (optional)

Blend all ingredients together until smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
