Raw Energy Balls

If you have a sweet tooth like me, then this recipe is for you! These “Raw Energy Balls” are the perfect snack to curb sugar cravings and best of all they don’t have any sugar in them at all! They are so easy to make, require no cooking time and are completely gluten and dairy free.

An excellent source of vitamin E, zinc and omega 3 fatty acids, these little balls make the perfect healthy sweet treat!


  • 1/2 cup raw cashew nuts
  • 1/2 cup raw almonds
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 cup coconut thread
  • 10 medjool dates
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup cacao powder
  • 1/4 cup filtered water
  • a pinch of Himalayan sea salt
  • Extra coconut for rolling


Remove pips from dates. Put cashew nuts, almonds, sunflower seeds, coconut, cinnamon, salt and cacao powder into a food processor and blend until you have a breadcrumb like consistency. Add dates and water and blend further until the mixture starts to stick together. With clean hands, roll into small balls. Roll the balls in the extra coconut and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes or until hard. Enjoy!

  1. Made them this morning they taste really good. Great way to get kids to eat a healthy alternative to chocolate. My son has been fooled into thinking its chocolate, loves them. Great work Emily!
